Our Story

Welcome to Handworked - our creative lifestyle shop and atelier in Penzance, Cornwall.

This beautiful building houses both the shop, filled with collections of my favourite things, and the atelier, where I spend my time lovingly making Handworked clothing.

I've been designing, making and selling my own clothing range since the 80's. Drawn to Cornwall by the landscape and the slower pace of life, it was here I was inspired to open my first shop, No.56 in 2013. I had a simple ethos in mind - that beautiful and carefully considered objects can add great joy to our everyday lives. In the intervening years we have moved several times, grown and evolved, but all the while staying true to that original idea.  Our new space at No.64 Chapel street has allowed us to expand our collections of clothing, textiles and creative supplies under the name, Handworked - our creative lifestyle shop. 

All the pieces, chosen or made, reflect my lifelong love of natural materials, textures and the beauty of the hand-made, with an interesting mix of old and new.
