Handworked sizing

Most items of Handworked Clothing are made in sizes small, medium and large.

Each product has garment measurements included in the description. Please use these garment measurements to compare with similar items of clothing in your wardrobe that fit you well.

The sizing translates approximately as follows, however, the garment measurements will give a better indication of size:

Small - UK10

Medium - UK12/14

Large - UK14/16

Most Handworked garments have been laundered after making, to achieve our desired finish. They are therefore, ready to wear with no extra shrinkage likely, if washed correctly. Please see our clothing care section below for washing instructions.

We're constantly making and adding new pieces, sizes and designs. If your size is currently unavailable, please contact us and we'll update you on availability.

Natural fabric care

All pieces of Handworked Clothing are made using natural fabrics, such as linen, cotton, silk or wool. The garments should be hand washed, cold, with care. They should be allowed to dry naturally out of direct sunlight.

Many of the Handworked garments are made using natural linen. We choose to work with linen for its aesthetic, strength, versatility and its thermal properties. Linen will naturally become crisper after washing but will relax and soften again with wear.

The garments have been ironed after they have been made and washed. It is personal preference as to whether you iron your linen garments after washing but if you would like to iron them, we would recommend gentle ironing on the reverse of the fabric. We personally like the softer look of leaving linen unironed.

There is a wash care label inside each of the garments.

Indigo & blockprint fabric care

In addition to cold hand washing all Handworked garments, it is advisable to wash garments made from indigo or blockprint fabrics separately, as excess dye can run.

As with all indigo-dyed garments, colour can transfer to other surfaces. The more an item is washed, the less the dye will transfer. Indigo garments lighten over time, showing age and wear beautifully.
